Find the Correct Office

A release question should go to the agency that held the person or created the record. Union County does not publish a confirmed rolling release feed, so a direct records request, court check, or system-specific search is often required.

Use the sheriff for local booking and release records, jail-status questions, releasable booking photographs, and local warrant routing. Provide the full name, birth date if known, approximate booking or release dates, arresting agency, charge, and case or warrant number. For other needs:

• Use the home page for the full released-person search and local record-request path.
• For Superior, State, Juvenile, Magistrate, or related case records, contact the Union County Clerk of Superior Court and use Georgia eAccess or re:SearchGA. City cases go to Blairsville Municipal Court.
• For a state prisoner or Colwell release, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search or Open Records Unit. Union County felony supervision is routed through the Georgia Department of Community Supervision Dahlonega field office.
• For parole status, tentative parole information, or Board decisions, use the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles.
• For a custody alert, search the Georgia VINELink portal. VINELink is not a permanent jail or court archive.
• For federal prison custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. Immigration detention belongs in ICE ODLS, while a U.S. Marshals hold may require agency or federal court contact.
